This system originated from India and came with traders establishing themselves on the northwest coast of Sumatra. This chapter will also explain that the coins were called “Mas,” after the weight of the Indian Suvarna Masha.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003e2.   Chapter two presents the history, genealogy and coins of Samudra-Pasai.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003eThe combination of the work by Guillot \u0026amp; Kalus of 2008 “Les monuments funéraires et l’histoire du Sultanat de Pasai à Sumatra” (Funeral monuments and the history of the Sultanate of Pasai in Sumatra) and Leyten’s publication of 2004 make it possible to update the genealogy of the rulers of Samudra-Pasai and the dating of the coins.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003e3.   Chapter three presents the history, genealogy and coins of Aceh.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003eIn addition to the publication of Leyten in 2004, new coins are described, and the history of Aceh is expanded.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003e4.   Chapter four gives the catalogues of the coins of Samudra-Pasai and \u003cspan style=\"color: inherit;\"\u003eAceh.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003eNew coins are added to the catalogues and corrections are made based on new insights. One coin had to be reassigned from Aceh to Samudra-Pasai.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003eThe (sub-) numbering issued in the publication by Leyten of 2004 is retained.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"ql-align-justify\"\u003eWhere coins are added or changed in historical sequence, the numbering is \u003cu\u003enot\u003c\/u\u003e adjusted to ensure that earlier references to the coins remain intact.
